Don’t miss this fascinating—and first-hand—look at a landmark case for trademarks and the First Amendment.

Joel MacMull '04, counsel for Simon Tam in THE SLANTS trademark case, will be discussing his experience as a member of the team that took the matter all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, where it ultimately prevailed in a unanimous decision. The case is once again in the spotlight, as the registration of “scandalous” and “immoral” trademarks (i.e., dirty words) is before the Court in Iancu v. Brunetti this term.

Open to the public; please spread the word.

Refreshments will be served. We hope you’ll join us.
