New England Law ’s ACLU and ACS are co-hosting a panel discussion with the Committee for Public Counsel Services in honor of the 60th Anniversary of Gideon v. Wainwright, in which the Court unanimously declared that indigent defendants have a constitutional right to a court-appointed lawyer. Our panel of public defenders, including New England Law grad Arnie Stewart, Deputy Chief Counsel for the Public Defender Division, will discuss the right to counsel and its importance in Massachusetts.
